Funding Collaborations: A Blueprint

“Take Note’s approach ensured we had mutual buy-in as a group, total understanding of the project’s aims and outcomes, and were all equally invested in it, which brought huge benefits. Through Take Note’s additional strategic support there was a framework created to hold us as three organisations, and I have never experienced that to such an extent before.”

Who are these tools for?

These tools are relevant to anyone undertaking or exploring collaboration and delivering work in partnership - social change organisations, funders, researchers, advocacy organisations and networks

We hope these tools will empower organisations to undertake more and stronger collaborations. In doing so, they will fulfil the potential of collaboration to amplify impact and drive social change.

How were these tools created?

Since 2019, Take Note has been developing a new partnership approach. It is designed to better enable community innovators and organisations to deliver joined-up, long-lasting social impact, through working together and sharing tools, ideas and learning. These tools have grown from our Collective Impact Lab - our funding and support for on-the-ground partnership projects - backed up by extensive research and sector consultation. This work underpins our recommendations for how to undertake and support collaboration most effectively, now and for the future.

“The approach from Take Note of developing the partnership over time and supporting that development throughout the project was a very different and positive experience - to have mutual buy-in, total understanding of the project’s aims and outcomes, and to all be equally invested in it brought huge benefits and was a great learning experience.”
